Casual Support Worker
Offers on-call support during day and night shifts when regular staff are unavailable - mostly within
our group homes and small option homes.
- Human Services diploma or degree preferred or combination of education and experience
- Experience in Human Services sector
- Varied shifts including awake and sleep overnights and days
- Halifax and Dartmouth locations
- Core Competency training required: First Aid/CPR - We will provide: CPI, Fire and Life Safety,
Medication Awareness
Overnight Support Worker
Sleep shifts within a group home, small option home or client apartment with 2 hours of active duty
required. Great for students!
- Grade 12 minimum education requirement, Human Services degree or diploma student preferred
- Experience in Human Services sector preferred
- Member of CUPE
- FT only: Benefits and Group RSP
- Sleep shifts, if woken paid at Casual rate
- Halifax and Dartmouth locations
- Core Competency training required is First Aid/CPR (and CPI if possible), other core competency
training provided.
Residential Counsellor
Responsible for the daily support to our clients in group homes and small option homes.
- Human Services degree or diploma required
- 2 years related working experience required
- Member of CUPE
- FT only: Benefits and Group RSP
- One house in Dartmouth has awake overnight shifts that RC's do
- Halifax and Dartmouth locations
- Core Competency training required: First Aid/CPR, CPI, Fire and Life Safety, Medication Awareness,
Positive Principles of Non-Aversive Behaviour Change, Individual Program Planning
Residential Care Worker
Provides support to clients at our 38 bed Residential Care Facility in Dartmouth.
- Human Services diploma required
- Successful completion of a Personal Care course/program
- Previous experience working with individuals with mental health difficulties.

Case Manager
Responsible for supportive counseling for a case load of clients living in their own apartments.
- Must have a Bachelor of Social Work with two years of related experience and be eligible for
professional registration in the province of Nova Scotia.
- Must have a working knowledge of the Province of Nova Scotia "Homes for Special Care Act", "Interim
Standards for Community Based Options" and "Hospitals Act"
- Must have a working knowledge of computer systems and programs including word processing and database input.
- Must have general knowledge of:
- Use and effect of current psychotropic medications
- Classification and criteria relative to major psychiatric disorders
- Must have a strong commitment to ongoing professional development.
- Must have a comprehensive knowledge of the mental health field, and would be familiar with community resources
for psychiatrically disabled individuals.
- Pager duty

- Reliable vehicle required with a 6A endorsement on insurance to be able to transport clients
- Cell Phone contract required, monthly payment made by Agency

Program Assistant
Provides daily living assistance to Apartment Services clients.
- Minimum of one of the following is required:
- Two years towards a Bachelors degree in social services or equivalent degree (e.g. Psychology, Sociology, Criminology, Gerontology, Family Studies, etc.), or
- A one year completed diploma or first year of a two year program in the human services field (e.g. Continuing Care Assistant, Human Services Program from a recognized college such as Nova Scotia Community College, Success College, CompuCollege, etc.)
- Reliable Vehicle required, valid drivers license with 6A endorsement (transporting clients)
- Cell Phone contract required, monthly payment made by Agency
