Volunteer with MCHA

Make a difference with MCHA
Through the commitment, passion and work of our volunteers, we are able to provide a wide range of services and programs. Volunteers are critical to our work, and act as advocates for all those who use our services. We offer our volunteers various opportunities within our organization.
Due to the vulnerable nature of our participants, we require our volunteers to be 18 years of age (unless youth 12+ are accompanied by an adult), and have a recent (within 3 months) vulnerable sector check available.
If you would like to explore our volunteer opportunities (listed below), please reach out to Kenda at kriles@mcha.ns.ca
Volunteer opportunities:
• Gardening/yard work – Tending to the gardens at multiple locations; weeding, planting, trimming, etc.
• Donations – Working in the donation area. Accepting donations, sorting, organizing the space for participants to access, helping participants find items.
• Meal prep/food donations – Assisting staff to cook meals and/or serve; organizing food donations for participant pick up.
• Community engagement/events – Working with MCHA staff members at events in the community to spread awareness and information about our services.
